2- INDUSTRIAL WELDER

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Welder. As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing various welding techniques such as Arc Welding, TIG Welding, and MIG Welding. Your day-to-day tasks will involve working with different materials and utilizing your welding skills to contribute to industrial development projects.

3- TANK WELDER

Responsibilities:

  • Selects type and size of pipe or other related materials and equipment according to specifications
  • Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques
  • May be required to use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes
  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions
  • Bolts, clamps and welds together metal components of products such as piping systems, plate, pipe and tube or structural shapes, using arc and arc gas welding equipment. May weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position. May tack weld assemblies together
  • Connects cable from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope and pulse as specified by procedure or supervisor
  • Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun
  • Starts power supply to produce electric current
  • Strikes arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld-line, maintaining length of arc and speed and movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle
  • May manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal. May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath. May repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. May remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag and spatter, using carbon arc gouge, hand scrapper, grinder or power chipper. May preheat work piece, using hand torch or heating furnace. May cut metal plates or structural shape
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications

5- INDUSTRIAL BLASTER

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customers specifications and manufacturers recommendations.
  • Assembles, maintains, repairs, and cleans painting equipment.
  • Mix and thin the coatings according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Construct protective enclosures to avoid over spray of customers equipment.
  • Assist in loading, unloading and storage of equipment and supplies.
  • At all times perform his work in the safest possible manner.
  • Immediately correct any unsafe condition.
  • Keep the jobsite clean by keeping it clear of all trash, unused paint materials, etc.

Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:

  • The blaster/painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved and be an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe and effective surface preparation and application of coatings.
  • The blaster/painter must be able to hold and control 100 psi nozzle pressure.
  • They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even mileage.
  • Must possess knowledge of and have experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters.)
  • Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial blasting/coatings.
  • Some knowledge of rigging.
  • Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of his craft.
  • Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of his craft.

10-Welder - Structural

This person must be able to join steel components or metal plates using blueprints, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions through the application of heat or electric arc-welding equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uses Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
  • Unites pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture.
  • Reaching expected temperature, size, and color of flame by burning torch and adjusting flow of gas and air.
  • Preheats work pieces for the preparation of welding or curving, using torch.
  • Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and makes bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces.
  • manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal. May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath.
  • remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag and spatter, using carbon arc gouge, hand scrapper, grinder or power chipper.
  • Climbs up ladders or works on scaffolds to take apart textures.
  • In order to protect the torch chooses place of weld based on type, thickness, area, and expected temperature of metal.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience – 2-4 years of Journeyman level experience.
